Case Study 01 — Document Inventory
From a Box in the Wardrobe to a Usable Index
The Situation
A Bangkok homeowner in her early sixties had a box of documents she had been adding to for twenty years. She knew her important papers were in there — but not where, and not whether everything was still current.
What We Did
We worked through the box systematically, identified and labelled each document category, noted expiry dates and renewal requirements, flagged two lapsed insurance policies, and identified a property deed that needed to be kept in a safer location.
The Outcome
A clear, labelled document index with location notes for each item. The client renewed her two lapsed policies, moved the property deed to a bank safe, and shared the index with her daughter. Duration: one session of two and a half hours.
Case Study 02 — Wishes Workshop
A Couple Who Had Never Had the Conversation
The Situation
A couple in their mid-fifties — one Thai, one British — knew they needed to record their wishes but kept finding reasons to postpone. They also disagreed on a few points and were not sure how to handle that.
What We Did
We facilitated a four-hour workshop that gave each person space to express their preferences in turn, noted areas of agreement and areas needing further conversation, and recommended a Thai solicitor and a UK-based specialist for specific instruments.
The Outcome
A joint written wishes record both parties felt represented them fairly. Clear next steps for the legal instruments they still needed. The couple said the workshop surfaced one significant issue they were glad to have discussed before a crisis made it harder.
Case Study 03 — Complete Programme
A Multi-Generational Family With Holdings in Three Countries
The Situation
An older gentleman with property in Thailand, Australia, and the UK, plus financial accounts across multiple institutions, wanted to give his adult children a single, coherent picture of his affairs before any health changes complicated matters.
What We Did
Over five weeks and four sessions, we built a full document inventory, facilitated a family wishes session with his two children joining by video, created a clear referral list of the professional contacts already holding relevant instruments, and organised all records into a single indexed file.
The Outcome
A comprehensive records file delivered in both printed and digital form. His children now know exactly what exists, where each item is held, and which professionals to contact. An annual review session has been scheduled to keep the file current.
